Naturally Colored Pearl Sugar
PurColour™ Colored Pearl Sugar will bring Scandinavia into your culinary experience. We import our Pearl Sugar from Sweden and color it with our natural colorants. We offer the largest selection of all natural colors available. The perfect finishing sugar for Belgian waffles, Swedish cinnamon buns, Italian sweet rolls and French pastries.
Pearl Sugar is produced from sugar beets and is made by molding crystal sugar ingots at very high pressure. These ingots are then crushed and screened to obtain extremely hard, irregular grains with can withstand baking temperatures, producing effects and pleasant textures.
Colored pearl sugar is best used as a finishing sugar. Although the sugar can withstand baking temperatures, color browning may occur with natural colorants when baking for extended periods of time; typically between 20 – 25 minutes.
